A group where Australian fans can unite and discuss the brilliance that is Kings Of Leon!

Kings of Leon's history is the epitome of a mythological rock & roll story. The Followill brothers are sons of a preacher man who were raised on the road throughout the South, traveling from one Pentecostal church service to the next. They were shattered by a divorce, transformed by illicit substances and the stoner music of Led Zeppelin and rewarded with a Nashville record deal for their grinding garage-boogie sound and raw, Southern gothic lyrics.

I'm totes devo, Brisbane KOL gig sold out and I didn't get tickets! I heard that they announced second shows in Melbourne and Syd does anyone know if they are planning to do the same for humble Bristits? The next step to show my commitment would be to try to exchange my big day out tickets for KOL but I'm not sure I'm ready for that!

Can't wait to rock out to the Followills for the 3rd time. It's a shame that the bigger bands are still choosing to play at the Entertainment Centre in Brissie as opposed to the Riverstage, but what can you do???

Also i still at a loss where the kick arse sound of taper jean girl, red morning light, my party and charmer went.... and you think doing a whole album of them, they could have perfected that slow style, but i think TRUE LOVE WAY and KNOCKED UP beat any of them...

and yeah i agree, if it had been the bucket, king of the rodeo, four kicks or even charmer that launched them i would be more happy. Hell, even Use Somebody is better but apparently it's done WORSE on the charts!

It wouldn't irritate me so much if they had become popular/went mainstream because of a wayyyyyyyy better song than "sex on fire". It's only because it doesn't come close to any of their greatest songs.

i was out the other night and the DJ was playing horrible music like Pink and Katy Perry. THEN he played Sex on Fire! Everyone was singing like they were massive KOL fans, but it is probably the only song they have ever heard! I hate how Kings of Leon are kind of going mainstream. But I still love them!

I'll admit that I started out not being keen on Kings of Leon, then I got more into Because of the Times and really enjoyed it, not knowing where they'd come from musically. Listening to their first two albums, though, I'm amazed that although the sound has changed, each album is really fantastic. To be honest, as a complete album, Because of the Times would be my favourite, and I really couldn't place the others in any order; they're all so brilliant at different times for me.
