This group is for all people who went to (or wanted to go to) 'The Hacienda' nightclub in Manchester.

Did you get soaked at Hot? Sip a Cocktail in the Gay Traitor? Were you a Dancing Queen at Flesh? Enjoy the Cabaret at Zumbar? Shake your mop top at Temperance? Or did you Shine every Saturday night?

This Group is for all you Hacienda Clubbers to reminisce about the best Nightclub in the world.

Did you queue for hours to get in whilst reading a copy of freaky dancing only to be turned away by one the mean ‘Salford Gang’ Bouncers? Or were you honoured enough to be on the guest list? Did you get on the TV when the ‘Hitman and Her’ film there? Or maybe you stormed the stage when Sister Sledge sang ‘We Are Family?

Come tell your tales of the Hacienda. If you can remember?

Can't resist a shout out to the Hac massive! Long time ago, best times of my life. Awesome club, awesome scene - every week there was an experience, wish I'd known at the time how special it was. My 21st birthday was spent off my tits on the stage of the Hacienda, grinning and stomping wildly to a crowd of loved up clubbers. I am truly privileged to be in that place at that time. Rave on!

Just 30 years ago, on the 16th October 1979, Joy Division played their first gig outside UK. It was in Brussels, Plan K. This "Factory Night" would eventually be followed by many others. On the 12th December 2009, a new Factory Night will take place in the same legendary venue, after a similar successful event in 2007: A Factory Night (and then again) with concerts (A Certain Ratio, Section 25, Biting Tongues, The Wake, The Names), DJ des projections, exhibitions (Kevin Cummins [NME], Philippe Carly [New Wave Photos], Daniel Oeyen [ACR 1986]) and an aftershow party with DJ's (Graham Massey, Tom Moderne...) and Re:Order (A Tribute to New Order). Tickets are available from Ticketnet.be, FNAC.be, FNAC.fr et chez Caroline Music (Bxl). http://www.facebook.com/l/56765;www.lefantastique.net/factory

i was at the Hac 88-91; mostly Nude with some Hot nights. Best DJ was Mike Pickering, then Jon da Silva (sorry Graeme!): It would often start out very Chigaco house, then move into techno and acid, the place rocking for a good few hours, before winding down to Sly's Feel Mighty Real or Carly Simon's Why...then some of us would head off to The Kitchen in Hulme or Alderley Edge to continue the party...There's some really good recordings of Hac nights available out there; proper oldskool stuff. Good times : )

There are some great downloads available here from the 808 State radio shows that aired on Sunset Radio (Manchester) from the early 90s onwards ............. http://www.808state.com/sounds/808djs.htm

I never made it to the Hac, but read loads about it and obviously listened to the tapes... I just posted the track listing to my latest podcast here, which is a tribute to Graeme Park (and the Hacienda) as I'm warming up for him in Cardiff in April. http;//wezg.org.uk I'd be interested to see if my dj work captures any of the old atmosphere that there was at the Hacienda...
