Yes, I've checked out the other, existing Catholic Groups; hopefully, this one will be different from all of them in some way. See the overview for more details.

1. To paraphrase the hymn - All are welcome here - with some restrictions: If you are not of our faith, be respectful & don't join to try to convert or "dis" us. Anti-Catholic sentiments, ideations, or actions will not be condoned. (E.G., pay attention to your avatar)
2. Forums will be open. I want this to be an active Group.
3. Because of the way LastFM feeds us music if we're not sponsors, abberrations will creep into the charts, but anyone who has Madonna, Guns 'n Roses, etc., at the top of his/her chart will be banned.
4. HAVE FUN - Being a Catholic does not mean that you can only listen to Palestrina & Gregorian Chant - or that that you may only talk about religious subjects!

(The right of banishment does exist to keep in line with these rules.)

Attention, please: Lie is a sin! Johann Sebastian Bach was a LUTHERAN not roman catholic. Handel grew up as a LUTHERAN, but after his naturalization appears to have adopted the worship of the CHURCH OF ENGLAND (=ANGLICAN CHURCH). Nevertheless Handel write sacred music for catholics, calvinists, lutherans and anglicans, anyone who pays.

Please say an extra prayer today - hubby is going to have surgery this afternoon. This one will be relatively minor, but he will be put under & I'm afraid there may be a couple more to come. Thanks & God Bless.

I borrow the following from the bio of our newest member - LizzyVISION. It is so profound, & absolutely true, & hit me so much that I just have to share it & pass it on: "I have advice to those of you who struggle with anything: be honest with God, don't lie and say I "want" to quit smoking, say I "don't want" to quit smoking but help me, and only then He can help you. Apply this to whatever you struggle with, be it addictions, lack of faith, depression, self-abuse/pity. It works immediately."

Tomorrow is, of course, Holy Thursday. Some time during the evening, play this, think of the words, & let the tears come. This has to be close to the way the angels sing it above. Panis Angelicus (But for a brief bit of levity - DON'T listen to it before you go to music practice, whether you play or sing!)

This is so beautiful, I didn't want to put it just under discussion. Most people are familiar with Andrea Boccelli's version. That absolutely cannot hold a candle to this - this is the way the angels would sing it, I think. The Prayer

Borrowed the following from one of jlarson88's post in a discussion thread: "I think very few people realize that they can put tracks in their library and then listen to them - randomly played - without paying a cent." Thought some of you might find it helpful.

Just noticed something - not all connected artists are listed above & the connected labels are not listed at all. If you'd like to see them all, you'll need to go to the "Connections" tab.

I did a little research, & if I understand the charts correctly, who you listen to doesn't affect charts so much as how many of us listen to the same artist. The overall tracks list the artists common to all of us in descending order of popularity; i.e., if you listen to TSO a thousand times, it's still only going to count it as 1.
