‘Could well be the first band since The Specials to bring Reggae back to the masses’ – Time Out.
The mighty East Park Reggae Collective is a class act. Formed in Leeds 9 in 2005, the band was brought together by long-time collaborators Johnny Tomlinson and Tommy Evans, and quickly gained a serious reputation on the Leeds scene as an epic party band, playing a host of venues throughout the city.
Fronted by the uncompromising vocals of Anna Stott, the band also boasts a heavyweight 4-piece horn section, and a locked in rhythm section. The latest product of the fantastic Leeds music scene that forms the backbone of First Word, the band’s debut album is the result of 6 years of hard work that have made them one of the most sought after live acts in the UK.
The band’s rough breed of dub, reggae, ska and soul has one them fans across Europe and has seen them appear alongside the likes of Dawn Penn, Easy Star All Stars, The Skatalites, Mad Professor, The Beat, Trojan Soundsystem, Iration Steppa’s and Blackalicious to name but a few.
