CD-Review (german): Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes & Under The Pink (Deluxe Versions / Re-Issues) - http://www.tribe-online.de/music/musik-reviews/tori-amos-little-earthquakes-under-the-pink-re-issues/
This is the most perfect CD ever to listen to on rainy days...
I always find it incredible when an artist has the ability to convey something without actually needing the words to do so.
I don't necessarily understand the true depth of the lyrics on this album, but I still feel like I get it completely.
It's pretty much just a perfect album, I guess.
under the pink was my first tori album as well. i found it in my mothers cd cabinet when i was about 16 and loved it. i've bought more of her albums since then of course. under the pink and little earthquakes will always be my favourites. amazing albums.
my first tori amos album too, i'd found it at my father's house when i was 11. it felt magical. i remember listening this as a cassette on my walkman, on the road to school, until it finally broke down. so it's much meaningful to me in every way. brings back memories and incredibly wonderful music :)
This was my very first Tori. When my sister (eight years older than I) left for uni, she left behind a cassette. Yes, a cassette of all things. Somehow I was drawn to it. Under the covers and late at night, I popped it into the old tape recorder and from the very first piano line of PGY right to the lifting up of the piano pedal at the end of Anastasia, I was entranced. Completely and utterly. I cried. I laughed. I believe I played it about four times before finally becoming completely exhausted and falling asleep, dead to the world. Then waking up for school the next day a completely different person. Or sleep deprived at the very least. But I didn't care - for I had found the most beautiful thing in the world, and it was mine.
after being a user of this site for a considerable amount of time and having tori ebb between my 1st & 2nd artist and pretty much inundating myself in user's opinions, i've decided that while this album has arguably her most popular song, it is seriously underrated.
sometimes I secretly think this is one of the best albums ever written. there's nothing else that can satisfy me when i'm in the mood for Under the Pink. it's poetic, somber, majestic and sweeping in wide-eyed wonder.
Fantastic songs but probably my least favourite Tori album. There're better versions of the songs on other collections (Second disc of Venus..etc) and the ordering really doesn't work for me. Like God between Pretty Good Year and Bells For Her. Yikes.
