  • If it's "one big metaphor" then it can be about whatever you damn well please, and so I say it's not alcohol. I mean, sorry if the only thing you can think of to make oneself feel different is a drug... That'd just be sad.
  • completely agree soldier_jane
  • Sweet
  • I always thought the "my only living relative" thing was a reference to Antarctica being sort of frozen and barren, and the lyrics being written from the point of view of someone who's emotionally frozen ... just my interpretation though!
  • since 71.

  • Fantastic song, has a certain somebody attached to this
  • this song is fun!
  • what a fab song , reminds me of flower power, whatever that was about, the lyrics seem simplistic and meaningless but sometimes the best songs do.
  • weeee!! pies!!!
  • I'd say you're right about the pun and the bulk of the song being about the continent. Oddly, it reminded me of Walden in that sometimes it sounded like returning to an earlier state of existence for cleansing, but I don't really know of course :P
  • I'm curious about that too. The "my only living relative" lines seems to be punning off of the "Aunt Arctica" interpretation of the word, but the rest of it actually seems to be about the continent. I like the subtle steampunk influence to the lyrics. I really have no idea what it's about, but I can't get it out of my head!
  • What is this song about? Anybody know the real story?
