  • @kiteo: I agree. I don't find this Smiths song to be particularly relatable, but I swear, when I was 14, I quoted Smiths lyrics and put them into everyday conversation. I stopped doing that, but I still love the Smiths.

  • Has there ever been a better writer on what it's like to be a teenager? Shame is most of his audience has moved on, but he hasn't (though he acknowledges this himself, partially anyway.)
  • amazing simply amazing, my fav of all the times of Smiths <3<3
  • although Moz himself has denied the homo content of this music, i see it as the definitive "gay anthem". regardless of the universality of the lyrics, it's ALWAYS breathtaking. favorite, by far.
  • I just love everything about this song- the lyrics, Morrissey's voice, the melody... "Stay on my arm, you little charmer!"
  • "Looking back on it now, it’s an almost even stranger set of circumstances, that the two talents fitted together like a hand in glove. There, I’ve said it. I don’t think I’m the only one who could imagine that song being about Morrissey and myself. It certainly did describe our relationship, and was born out of that new relationship.” Johnny Marr
