  • Don't forget to visit Irish Drinking Songs Daily - for your daily dose of Irish drinking songs. Sláinte
  • Caught some B&W televised footage of them from the mid-sixties, they were - no, are - amazing singers and players of Irish music!
  • The best.
  • The Dubliner's are hardcore Irish pub folk musicians that achieved their fame in Ireland. The Clancey Brothers Had to come to America to find Fame. Plus their lineup kept changing through the years. My feeling is that The Clancey Bros. (especially with Makem) presented the music as and art form, using their stage and acting experience to present the songs. The Dubliners were more traditional, using traditional instruments (tenor banjo, fiddle, tin whistle) with Ronnie Drew giving it all a rough around the edges feel.
  • Still can't figure out why the dubliners have so many more plays. The Clancy Brothers are so much better.
