  • Not their best nor nearly the best debut ever made, but it's not as bad as Dev himself claims it to be. The first two tracks are classic SYL, killer stuff! Some other songs are cool as well, especially some of the riffing and industrial atmospheres. The Japanese bonus track "Japan" is great, and features a part which was later re-written into "The death of music" on Ocean Machine, for those who don't know. I guess this was a good debut in one way, though - it made City even more great and surprising!
  • @dAziks: your mother looks like james hetfield
  • Their best album! [2] By quite a bit imo. Not saying the others are bad, just this one is super good.
  • Vocals sounds like Jonathan Davis.
  • Their best album!
  • Starting to think this may be better than City. Idk it's just really heavy and hypnotizing at the same time.
  • Best album.. Does exactly what it says on the tin..
  • I feel this album is unjustly disliked. "SYL", "In the Rainy Season", "The Filler: Sweet City Jesus", "Skin Me", "Cod Metal King" and "Satan's Ice Cream Truck" are among his best as Strapping Young Lad. I think you all need to take a second glance at this album. The Filler is one of the more intense songs he has done.
  • Rather weak an album apart from a couple of songs. It's pretty clear that it was meant to be a joke (for the most part at least).
