Sober musicians have done plenty of great music. Buzz Osbourne of the Melvins is a teetotaler, for instance. Hell, Dave Grohl, who drums on this very album, doesn't do drugs. And plenty of great musicians have done drugs, too. The drugs don't make the music, though (in most cases).
This is a perfect example of why drugs are good things for us Something I'd expect to hear from someone who's never seen drugs tear apart those around them. Drugs are great until they catch up with you.
