Jesus, total rip off lol. The problem with something so blatant as this is that it calls in to question the rest of their work. Did they (or the vocalist) lift from other songs as well but were just a bit better at making sure he took from lesser known songs? I'm bummed.
I mean you people don't seem to be able to get over it, I don't know if you realize it's only the vocals that resemble the Thrice song, this track has a completely different structure and different music.. that is obvious though, right?
There's absolutely no way this could have been an accident. It has to have been intentional. Norma Jean are way too talented a group of musicians to accidentally write a song that sounds exactly like a Thrice hit. I'm sure it was intentional.
Ha! I just heard this track for the first time and as soon as the vocals started I was like "Is this a Thrice cover?! Wait... no it's not - different lyrics."
I came on here just to see if anyone else thought it sounded like them and... well - just about everyone it seems!
I don't know if they blatantly intended to steal from Thrice or not, but both the verses -and- the chorus undeniably "borrow" elements from Under A Killing Moon. To an almost laughable degree, really. Which kind of sucks -- the first half of this album is really strong, but by the time Media Friendly Turn rolls around, it's more or less heckling me to switch over to TAITA. Ah well.
I've never listened to Thrice before but I listed to Under a Kill Moon just to see if this song actually sounded like it. I'm surprised that it sounds almost exactly like it. Kind of disappointing that they ripped off another band. :/
