Buenos Aires, 4th November, pissing rain, traffic jams, not an umbrella in sight, but managed to get to a cafe-restaurant around Avenida del Libertador. In spite of the steep price I downed two Isenbecks before I ventured into the rain. Some kids needed directions so we walked through the wood paths of Palermo to arrive to GEBA just in time when the skies poured the heaviest rain of the evening. After check in, we landed in one of the warehouse stages where a crap local band were finishing their set, outside the rain was stopping so we could get into the outdoors stage in time to watch a fantastic performance by Broken Social Scene. Whilst I had only heard a couple of songs before, they were brilliant on stage, really cool melodies, the Canadian combo knew what they were doing, with a entourage of band members, friends, and multi instrumentalists (I saw a saxophone player killing a percussion set) - great night so far.

Volto ao Planeta Terra depois de 3 anos.
Minha primeira vez no Playcenter.
Adorei. Mantiveram a organização caracteristica do evento.
Fomos pro The Name.
Som bem bacana, me lembrou o Rapture.

Oasis picked up the Brits Album Of 30 Years for “(What's the Story) Morning Glory?” at the Brit Awards recently.
“I’d like to thank Bonehead, Guigsy, Alan White…. the best bands in the f**king world live forever.”
Liam Gallagher is quoted as saying, obnoxiously omitting his brother Noel from his thanks. He then subsequently threw his microphone and trophy into the audience.
Watch it here, though this version is censored. Skip ahead to about 1.40 if you wanna see when Liam comes on stage.
Host Peter Kay then appropriately summed up the performance with “What a knob-head.” Couldn’t have said it better myself.
In other news, Peter Gabriel recently did a cover of Radiohead’s “Street Spirit (Fade Out)” for a covers project, and in return expected Thom Yorke to cover “Wallflower” for him. Yorke had apparently agreed to do so and was set to do it, but hasn’t been in contact for a while. And a lot of online media establishments are making a buzz about it. …
Atualmente, Liam respira ares extramusicais.
12. Okt. 2009, 19:58 von Supermandre"Thou shalt not stop liking a band just because they become popular"
Aber manchmal geht das nicht anders.
* Billy Talent
"You're suffering, feel your pain / Allow me to be your sponge / Cause I can absorb your sorrows / I'm the one." Ist das noch progressiv?
* Kings of Leon
edit: holy moly! The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion ist ja fantastisch. Ja doch!
6. Mär. 2009, 5:08 von beaubierI haven't done an entry here in forever, so I figure what the hell. Top fifty most played artists time!
1. How did you get into 29?
No fucking idea. I probably heard about them in some magazine after Vanishing Point, because that's the first album of theirs I owned, though.
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
It was more of an album-- Coming Up. I think my friend bought it first; at the time we were living on allowances (bear in mind, I was 16) and so we had to sort of all pick an album and get it and then pass it around to feed our ravenous habits. I remember falling in love with Filmstar, though.
3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33?
Er, not exactly a lyrics kind of band-- but then I don't have many of those. I actually really like the first line of Shine On, though there are lots of songs I like better. Safety pins holding up the things that make you mine. Or I have a certain character who likes it. Same thing.
4. What is your favorite album by 49?

28. Dez. 2008, 2:49 von AnnaDraconidaFor the record, I never thought that "overrated" meant "total crap". I rate music on a scale of 5 to 0, like this:
5- fucking awesome
1-I'd rather skip it
Most of the names I will list below would get a 3 or a 2 rating from me. They're not total shit, but why the fuck are they so popular??? Some of them are annoying douchebags/bitches to boot, and yet the masses worship these suckers like they're a bunch of fucked-up messengers from *insert random deity here*.
And no, I didn't include Britney Spears because she doesn't qualify as a singer, or a human being, for that matter.
Let's kick it off with this sexy beast: Amy Winehouse.
Why is everyone praising her damn voice??? She sounds like a combination of Macy Gray, Anastacia and Kurt Cobain (who also sang like his mouth was stuffed full of soft cheese) + 10 pounds of crack. …
