There was a time when musicians intended to create good music only. The Beatles composed songs for The Rolling Stones debut, Pink Floyd went to Abbey Road studios to learn from The Beatles and seek help from them for their debut album. The Beatles learnt from Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton's Cream. They used to collaborate, teach and learn from each other. Where as now we have buffoons calling themselves musicians, cussing each other through their songs full of hatred and jealousy. Disapproving someone else winning the Grammy. Mature, beautiful lyrics have been replaced by words like bitch, fuck, ass, motherfucker, nigga. I see people devolving. Hope more people start listening to music. Cheers.
After hearing so much hype for Jay-Z all these years, I finally tried listening to the "Black Album" last week, and man was I disappointed! Most songs were sooo dull. There's barely any energy in any of them except Encore and 99 Problems.
And I can't take any 'gangsta style' raps from him that seriously, because he's been rich for such a long time now.
