These niggas go hard in the paint. Why did I not listen to A Different Ship in 2012? Oh well. By the way, I know it's old but "Fangela" still slaps hard to this day. listen to it on a good setup and you're gonna be in a state of audio bliss.
I dunno. I love this band and am willing to watch them evolve over time, but the new album's still sounding pretty bland to me after several listens through. I think they may have streamlined the instrumentals and group vocal arrangements a little too much this time around. And less gnarly psychedelic moments - which is ALWAYS bad.
A Different Ship was produced by the same man who produces for Radiohead which is why it sounds so damn delectable. A friend of mine even said this album sounds slightly like Radiohead even before he knew about the producer. I think this band is fantastic! bout to hit their tipping point pretty soon here
about to listen to the new album for the first time. I was lucky enough to hear a handful of their new songs acoustically at a Dallas show when there was a long power outage. Mike told me that I heard "How Do I Know" at the best that night. so if that's any indication to what the songs will be like electrically live, then I'm FUCKING psyched.
