Fear wurde 1977 in Los Angeles gegründet und gilt als einer der Wegbereiter des Hardcore Punks.

Ihr erfolgreichstes Album war ihr Debüt "The Record" von 1982, welches auch ihre bekanntesten Songs "Let's Have a War", "I Don't Care About You", "I Love Livin' In The City" und das Animals-Cover "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" enthielt.

Während die Band ihr bisher letztes Album 2000 veröffentlichte, blieb der Sänger Lee Ving das einzig verbliebende Mitglied.

Their best recording was Live....For the Record.

They took out the line "if you're a homosexual" in New York's Alright. It's a sad day when Fear is politically correct. [2] But they still said "Give guns to the queers" in Let's Have A War. Idk, Re doing it wasn't necessary at all but it ain't bad. I guess Lee just doesn't have new songs. Oh well. and the only Re-recording album i ever enjoyed was Suicidal Tendencies, just cause how different it was.

All re-recordings are unnecessary, silly and stupid..."The Fear Record" is no exception

The re-recording sucks. Actually, is so better produced the original Record than the rerelease (not to mention how the songs sound dull in the new The Fear Record, compared to the original ones).
