I used to crank the shit outta Demanufacture back in 2009, and it's still my fave FF album, but finally I've learned to appreciate this album as well. It still has its moments of downhills, but overall it's a solid listen. I like the concept idea as well.
I had a hard time adjusting to this album. It has a lot of groove while I got accustomed to FF ripping the shit out of double bass and constant tremolo. I always thought it was bit overrated, because it was released along with Cars cover, but after some time I gotta say, it kicks ass.
"De[s]cent & Resurrection are oozing with awesomeness, the rest of the album sucks, this is the most overrated FF album..." ewwwww, can't take the heavy? It sounds like you'd love the second half of Transgression.
Masterpiece. True story: when this album came out in 98, I was very sick and in the hospital feeling like hell, difficulty breathing, little strength. My brother bought me this album (I think it just came out) and I put it in the cd player I had brought from home (I need my music) and I am convinced that it played part in my sudden surge of energy and will to move. I had to stand up so I could properly headbang. I might've been scaring the nurses with this music but I was well enough to go home in no time. I am convinced that I have Fear Factory to thank for the help. The next summer I saw them at Ozzfest, had a great run in the moshpit. Ah, I love metal goddammit!!
my 2nd favorite album of all time this is one of those albums you never forget i got this during middle school days and still listen to it today and i agree definitely one of the best if not the best concept album ever words can not explain how perfect the concept is and hwo amazing this album is
Well I'll go out there and say that this is my favourtie FF album, although Demanufacture comes close. I listened to this album once during a walk on a ridge on the fringe of a city overlooking an industrial estate, a modern housing development, a train line and a lake panning out into a vast swamp. Nothing but blue sky, faint chemical smells and the hiss of high tensile wires above me. It was the most amazing thing ever. Does that sound retarded? It just added something to the music that is lost when listening through computer speakers while browsing the web or whatever.
