Mikael Akerfeldt gave Bloodbath brutal low growls of ground beef and moist cake, but Nick Holmes brings us the Satanic soul vomit. Grand Morbid Funeral has finally grown on me, and I accept it into my heart.
Really fun live. Although, when I saw them last year, Nick did mess up on the vocals quite a lot. Both timing and forgetting/changing lyrics. He played around too much. Peter or Mikael is a tossup, but I think I'd give it to Peter just because I've listened to NMF so much. Although RTC is basically just as good. The Fathomless Mastery was disappointing. Grand Morbid Funeral was ok, and while Nick's vocals don't appeal to me that much, he did a decent enough job on the album.
Saw him this weekend and god are they awful. I saw them a few years back at RockHardFestival and they were a beast - now with this new vocalist they have sunk deep into the mediocrisy most death metal bands suffer from.
People don't forget that easily but with Nick Holmes Bloodbath achieved someone predestined for the style of "Grand Morbid Funeral". Åkerfeldt wouldn't fit the dirty and disgusting atmosphere here, sorry
