  • very much the best record ever. first one i listen to on New Year's to make sure it's a good year ahead
  • Iconic
  • My humble review of Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique (1989): http://www.last.fm/user/Avirett4/journal/2015/04/29/6j9inb_beastie_boys_-_paul%27s_boutique_%281989%29
  • My only exposure to Beastie Boys was severely overplayed songs like Brass Monkey and No Sleep 'til Brooklyn, so I avoided this for awhile. It's really solid though, surprising that comparatively few people seem to know about it.
  • Along with Endtroducing and Fear of a Black Planet this album represents the high point of sampling as an art form. Absolutely flawless.
  • This is blowing my mind.
  • This truly can be called a flawless classic.
  • This album was so ahead of its' time it's unbelievable. Modern stuff has a hard time coming close.
  • 25 years! Such a legendary album
  • happy 25th birthday to the best album ever
  • v That's because this album didn't really have any hit singles and didn't sell well, but it's still weird
  • "Its really funny how their best album has the least amount of plays." thinking the same
  • 1-3
  • A true masterpiece
  • As Miles Davis once said, I never get bored of listening to this album
  • Do yourself a favor -> http://www.djfood.org/djfood/pauls-boutique-remade-by-cheeba-moneyshot-food ‘Paul’s Boutique’ remixed and re-imagined from all the original samples plus a cappellas, period interviews and the Beasties’ own audio commentary from the reissued release.
  • the production is solid gold
  • Legendary is the correct word, right? ;) BTW: I uploaded cover in better quality. Vote up if you think the same.
  • I asked P-nut what his favorite Beasties album was and he said "Paul's Boutique, it changed my life." Now THAT is a fucking endorsement!
  • I love this record.
  • Car thief just might be the best hip hop song ever.
  • "Got more rhymes than Jamaica's got mangoes"
  • Ditto, hugh20. You speak the truth :)
  • I have no words for how good this album is.
  • It's a trip, it's got a funky beat & I can bug out to it. [3]
  • sampling in hip-hop at it's best [2]
  • perfection.
  • sampling in hip-hop at it's best
  • I'm probably making an overstatement, but I like to think of this album as the Pet Sounds of hip-hop.
  • Its really funny how their best album has the least amount of plays.
  • AB-SO-LUTELY their best album! Then Check your head. Then Ill Communication. Then Licensed to Ill. Then Hello Nasty. After that, I sorta stopped listening... [2] Same happened to me.
  • AB-SO-LUTELY their best album! Then Check your head. Then Ill Communication. Then Licensed to Ill. Then Hello Nasty. After that, I sorta stopped listening...
  • Their best album
  • Superb!
  • Good but kind of overrated...
  • My favorite Beasties album, ever since its release. Check Your Head gave it a run for its money, but still.
  • These days I'm pretty meh on hip-hop, and I'm even more meh on Beastie Boys. But this album.
  • Really good hip hop album, and I don't even really like hip-hop that much.
  • So good. Reminds me of Jet Set Radio Future, too!
  • the one the made the Beastie Boys the Beastie Boys
  • It's a trip, it's got a funky beat & I can bug out to it. [2]
  • Always coming back to this album. Still fresh!
  • Sheer Beastie goodness. Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego!
  • their masterpiece
  • masterpiece
  • one of the few 10.0/10.0 reviews I agree with on Pitchfork
  • So damn underrated. Bitches back then under appreciated it so bad, hmpf!
  • if you don't like this album you don't like hip-hop
  • This album is an undeniably ill classic and the best hip-hop release from the 80s on-par with "It Takes a Nation" and "Straight Outta Compton".
  • "A mind-bending, genre-defying classic deserving of all the praise it receives… and then some" - sputnik music
