“Well, here is what really happened. We did not have our advance (half recording budget) from Earache to ever start the recording. We did so spending our own money. Then we asked them to have our advance as well as money to finalize the mix (vocals to be quickly added). There was no interest from Earache. We did not offer them an unmixed instrumental album.we still want to release this album.” - Henrik Drake. I will throw money their way if the band was to start a crowdfunding campaign.
Earache has not payed them money for the Conductors Departure so they are probably not going to release their new stuff, when probably they already have like 2-3 albums recorded. Its the Necro situation.
@elitist_jerk, taken from their page on metal archives - "Anata's new album is already recorded and mixed (and probably also mastered) and has been so for at least a year, but it hasn't been released due to the band not being able to get a proper record deal. No news on the band have been known for quite some time. It is presumed that there are some issues going on between Anata and Earache Records."
MahdiDonboli: If people shouldn't compare bands, then they also shouldn't hold opinions on bands either, because they will inevitably rank some above others, thus making a comparison. Are you saying nobody should ever rate or assess the quality of music based on standards established by other bands? Ultimately, all our opinions on bands are based on certain standards that music we've heard before dictates. For the record, a band's shoutbox is an excellent forum for discussing bands and, yes, comparing them to others of similar style.
WTF ARE YOU IDIOTS TALKING ABOUT??!?! ARE YOU COMPARING TWO BANDS????
1st of all this place is NOT the place to discuss this,
2nd of all, You guys are so stupid, because ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY COMPARE TWO METAL BANDS WITH EACH OTHER!
3rd and the last but not least, YOU ARE ALSO AN IDIOT FOR SAYING THAT EPITAPH WAS A BAD ALBUM! :|
if this discussion is going to be continued, MAKE A DAMN THREAD IN THE FORUM :|
There are other modern tech deaths that don't outright suck, but Anata's one of the few that's utterly brilliant in every respect. One could wish for more organic and lively production - an articifial, plastic sound plagues most albums.
