What is the best song to fall asleep to?

  • What is the best song to fall asleep to?

I had a long day and I'm not quite ready for the full commitment of sleep. I pick up my I-pod and my big headphones, lie down face up on my bed, and close my eyes. As the music fills my head I enter a new state of consciousness. I am in utter bliss! I don't know about you but I'm listening to:

Your Hand in Mine by Explosions in the Sky

    What's your sleepy song?

  • a few tracks by ratatat.
    'hidden leaves' by circa survive.
throw in the occasional lo-fi with beach house.
depending on the sleepy mood i am in.

  • Pink Floyd's coming back to life does the trick for me, infact the album 'division bells' is my fav bedtime album :D

I've fallen asleep countless times to the album Beautiful Midnight by Matthew Good Band

  • 'Goodbye Sky Harbor' by Jimmy Eat World. In fact, the whole Clarity album.
    Kevin Devine's Lullaby For A Snow-Faced Girl.
And most songs by The Postal Service.

    anything from
Happy Songs for Happy People by Mogwai
More Than Loops (Japanese Version) by 40 Winks
    or
Mad Blunted Jazz by DJ Cam

I wiped my ipod the other day and they're the only albums I have on there now.
    It's great. :]

Transatlanticism by death cab... anything by Damien Rice. Strange & Beautiful (I'll Put A Spell On You) is a great one too. My iPod's been waterlogged for a while, as a result I haven't gotten much sleep :/

I usually put on something calm and ambient. The whole Oxygène album by Jean Michel Jarre usually comes on.

I usually turn on my post-rock playlist before I go to bed.

But the song I usually start off with is Romantica by Slow Dancing Society
