Pre-order link for the rest of the world - the release date for most countries is 24th September 2012

Pre-order link for Japan and nearby places - the release date for Japan is 12th September 2012

There is also  download of a free high-resolution track named Walls and Doors. It's a .wav file, so it might take a bit longer for you. All you need is a valid e-mail address. Check your inbox after you've submitted it and your download link should be there for you to click on.

An excerpt of what he says about the song:

This song, recorded in September 2010, marks the point at which I began combining 60s and early 70s production styles with modern electronic production styles. This song was also the first time I successfully balanced pop music with abstract forms of music. This song showed me that the pop parts of myself and the more adventurous parts of myself could blend without one compromising the scope of the other.

Please, when quoting his blog entries on various websites, include a link to the original and don't quote the entire post. Be kind, just like you should be to any other fellow blogger.

You can discuss Walls and Doors and post your questions and issues regarding the pre-order in this thread or in the below post on the unofficial fan site:

...and someone who can help you will see that. :)

If there are any issues with the website itself, please, message me and describe your issues. Saying that it doesn't work isn't really helpful. Include screencaps if possible and tell me what browser and device you were using. :)

  • John Frusciante has a new song available, let's play it all day long, as much as we…

    28. Mai. 2012, 9:45 von RustlingRagazza

Oh, happy day! Ten days after the release of the Letur-Lefr EP was announced, it was officially confirmed that John Frusciante would be releasing two albums this year - the said EP and a full-length titled PBX Funicular Intaglio Zone!

You can read a warm and beautiful personal letter from the maestro himself on his somewhat revamped official site and you can pre-order the EP in a variety of formats - everything from a cassette tape to high-definition audio here, if you're in USA, here if you're someplace else.

If you want to chat about the pre-order and comment on the new track, go to the fansite or the unofficial fan community

Upon pre-order, you'll get a free download of a song called Glowe...a short, sweet, sexy instrumental which will likely blow your mind. Download it. Fix its ID3 tags. AND LET'S PLAY IT AS MUCH AS WE CAN, to show the world that John is back and that he's acing in every single genre of music he's been exploring during his 24-year-long recording career.

    How do you do this?
Edit the properties of the file - the artist is John Frusciante, the track is Glowe, the album is Letur Lefr. Then put it on repeat and make sure your last.fm scrobble icon is on.

Let's do it! Let's spread the news of John Frusciante's beautiful new music and keep the indie spirit alive. <3 Also, please comment on this journal entry if you're taking a part in this, so the others can see you're on a mission, too!
  • Have you seen the three exclusive clips of John Frusciante from Bob and the Monster?

    6. Apr. 2011, 16:45 von RustlingRagazza

Just a little heads-up to everyone who hasn't seen it yet. Three John Frusciante clips from the recently premiered and largely fan-funded documentary on Bob Forrest, Bob and the Monster have been edited and uploaded ESPECIALLY for JF fans and visitors of Invisible Movement.

So, if you would like to have a look, here's a sneak preview of what you'll see:

As for what you'll hear - it's indeed splendid. John talks about Bob Forrest's influence on him, how Bob inspired him and he even shares that he was invited to play with Thelonious Monster upon having quit the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1992.

Watch all three videos here! Make sure you spread the word!
  • Help the director and the team behind "Bob and the Monster"! (John, Josh, Anthony…

    2. Mär. 2011, 2:20 von RustlingRagazza

Most of you will remember that nearly two years ago, it was made known that the Sundance Film Festival's Grand Jury Prize-winning producer Keirda Bahruth is doing a documentary on Bob Forrest - the iconic frontman of Thelonious Monster and The Bicycle Thief, nowadays a solo artist and counselor of the Celebrity Rehab show. I'm more than glad to inform you the film has been completed and the trailer is available for you to watch! John is, of course, featured in it; talking about Bob Forrest who, to remind those who don't know, discovered his talents.

    Here's the official synopsis:
Six years in the making, this documentary film follows outspoken indie-rock hero Bob Forrest, through his life-threatening struggle with addiction, to his transformation into one of the most influential and controversial drug counselors in the US today. BOB AND THE MONSTER crafts contemporary footage, animation and compelling interviews with archival performances and personal videos from Bob's past to reveal the complex layers of this troubled, but hopeful soul. Testimony from his peers, including Courtney Love, Anthony Kiedis and Flea add texture, but it's the depth of Bob's music, interwoven throughout the film, that illuminates this unforgettable and inspirational story.

The film is currently being finished and set to see the light of the daz at the SXSW on the 11th of March.

Now here's the deal: the production team needs your help to get all the work done and fund the remaining costs needed to cover the film's online promotion, music rights, archival clearances, sound mix, et cetera. The author, protagonist and the team behind the film are offering some VERY attractive awards for all the bigger donations. For example, if you donate $35 or more, upon its release you will get a DVD signed by Keirda Bahruth and Bob Forrest himself; and if you donate $75 or more, the DVD will also be signed by Josh Klinghoffer, and you'll also get a hand-screened film poster, with all of the three signatures. Isn't that awesome? Please, click below to donate and, if you have done so, reply to this post, so it'd be known. ^_^

    13. Feb. 2011, 15:15 von RustlingRagazza

    9. Feb. 2011, 14:40 von RustlingRagazza

In honour of this day, I suggest we all put the album on repeat all day long, to show how much appreciate it.

  • Red Hot Chili Peppers official biography is out on 19th October

    1. Okt. 2010, 19:16 von RustlingRagazza

Since it's October, I thought it's the right time to let everyone who doesn't visit the site much or follow it on Twitter know about this upcoming book. It was meant to be out on 26th October, but looks like it will be released one week earlier - on 19th! :)

The book is exactly what its title says, an oral and visual history of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It is said that all of the band members contributed to it, writing and supplying behind-the-scene photos; thus making it the first and only official (auto)biography of the band.

Here's a page from the book from the preview which was put on the Harper-Collins website in April and soon after withdrawn. The little photo in the centre of the page was taken on the same day John left the band in 1992 and the author of that photo wrote to me, wondering how come it was a part of the preview, as he had not reached an agreement with the publishing company over using that photo. Soon after, all the previews perished from the site, so I assume they did something wrong.

And here's a quote from that page:
I was 18 when I joined the band. I was totally off balance. When I quit I was 22 and I just thought everything's over. I needed time to do absolutely nothing - time to have no responsibilities other than to experience life. The resentment I built up against Anthony is real personal stuff. Honestly, I think in his soul he really wanted me to be exactly what I am, but he has certain needs from people that even he has no explanations for.

This is the PDF of some pages, including the above page, that was on the publisher's site for a while. It was taken off later, so...this is the only way to get a sneak preview. :)

This is the book information page where all of that stuff was on for a short period of time and then removed:

Pre-order the book and get 34% off its regular price
    USA order link
    Europe order link (UK)
Unless you live at the end of the world, you should get it before its shelf date...that is, before the 26th of October.

Other official books on Red Hot Chili Peppers
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Me And My Friends - featured hundreds of black and white as well as colour photographs by the band's long-time photographer and friend, Tony Woolliscroft. The foreword was written by Chad Smith.
Scar Tissue - Anthony Kiedis' autobiography, co-written by Lary Sloman. It chronicles the singer's life up to the end of year 2003. Editions after the original October 2004 one were slightly censored on some people's request, so it's always best to look for the first edition if you're really curious.

There's also an option to get the new book and Me And My Friends for less than 45 dollars in a bundle. :)

Some other RHCP bios and books, though unofficial:
Martin Roach - Red Hot Chili Peppers: Inside the Veins of the Velvet Groove. The Unauthorised Biography
    Jeff Apter - Fornication
Rob Fitzpatrick - Red Hot Chilii Peppers: Give It Away: The Stories Behind Every Song
Dave Thompson - The Red Hot Chili Peppers
]Dave Thompson - Red Hot Chili Peppers: By The Way: The Biography
All of these books were written by journalists fan-turned-journalists and there are some errors, notably in the one about songs, where some photos have been given wrong captions. As for the Dave Thompson books, the first one is more detailed when it comes to the band's earliest days.

(It took me ages to write this, so please, make some use out of it! :p)
  • Invisible Movement is down until about 17:00 CET on Thursday

    19. Jan. 2010, 20:30 von RustlingRagazza

The last week's issue, whatever it is, has repeated. The site should be up again sometime on Thursday at 17:00 (that's 5 PM) Central European Time. In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out what the problem is, as my hosting company isn't being really helpful.

There's a possibility that video embeding might be disabled once the site's back up, that gallery will be online for a while, or both; as it is very likely that one or both of these components are causing issues.

If the problems and lack of communication in English between myself and the hosting company persist, I might have to move the site elsewhere. Either way, this is not the end of Invisible Movement or something as crazy as that, I have all the files backed up and putting everything up elsewhere wouldn't take too much time, it's mostly a matter of principles

Anyway, for the following two days, what can you do? I'd suggest you to do something nice - draw, paint, write, make music, whatever is your prefered form of expression. Helping someone out is a good idea too.

You can also visit the other outlets of Invisible Movement, which all work.
Invisible Movement on Twitter and on Twibes
    Invisible Movement on Facebook
    Invisible Movement on Myspace
    Invisible Movement on blip.fm

...and, naturally, the awesome message board this group got named after - Your forum is glued to a site on fire

How can you help? At this point - by not asking about it because it's really annoying and it won't change anything.
  • A call to everyone to record/photograph at the Bangface Weekender!

    16. Apr. 2009, 23:13 von RustlingRagazza

Are you going to the Bangface Weekender in Camber Sands, UK?
Would you like to pay-it-forward and be a reporter/photographer for Invisible Movement.net?
2000-4500 people a day will get to see your work, which is a good exposure; and of course, the amount of faces you'll bring a smile to matters even more. ^_^

As we all known, John Frusciante will be performing with Venetian Snares at this year's Bangface Weeekender, a large neo-rave three day party held at the Camber Sands holiday resort, the very same place that All Tomorrow's Parties weekends take place at. You can read more about Speed Dealer Moms on this page and by following this tag in the news archive.

Given that UK is out of limits for many people, that a bunch of them aren't keen on raves and that the tickets are a bit too pricey, not many visitors of this website will attend the event. So, reporters are more than welcome and any possible media footage, impressions and such will be greatly, greatly appreciated.

You can do a lot of things, here are some examples:
    - Write a review.
    - Take a bunch of photos.
    - Record some video.
    - Record audio.
    - Send live reports and MMS' through a cell phone or directly to a service such as Twitter.
(This one is a wild idea, I know, but if there's reception, why not?)

Bigger and more complete is better, but seriously, for the start, ANYTHING would do. And, just like it was the case with the 2008 jam at The Troubadour, if you send me mobile photos and news in text and multimedia messages live, I'll be able to post them on the site as-it-happens.

If all of this sounds good to you and if you think you have what it takes - a couple of basic gadgets and the will to share; please email me; so we can talking about this.

P.S. And remember some basic stuff:
    - When you're taking photos on an event, try not to use flash from the front rows, as it's rude and you might confuse the performer and disturb people around you.
    - When you're asking for a photo with someone, be nice, be polite, try not to get too close as humans aren't pieces of furniture. Be nice!
    - When you're recording audio or video, try not to sing. Also, audio usually sounds better when you're not recording it from the front rows, due to distortion.
    - When you're recording video, hold your hands steady and, if your recording device has zoom, use it wisely and don't zoom too fast, in order not to lose focus.

    Good luck! ^_^

P.S. Just to make sure, this is volunteering. Invisible Movement has never been an official website and well, even if it was, I assume this wouldn't be a real job.
