  • Last.fm fails to open

    Seek and Destroy "/Users/LlKlM_1349/Library/Logs/Last.fm.log"
  • Wich operative system? sounds like some sort of crashing due to applications conflicts. When has this started? did you installed anything wich may have caused the problem? plugins or apps...

  • Im using Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger
about a day ago it started.
I had iScrobbler also installed for awhile and it worked fine with it.
i cant think of any plugins or apps i installed.
It happened long ago too but only thing that made it work again was i reformatted my laptop.

    same for me

    leopard 10.5.4

  • Try to do a search by spotlight and remove any file related to last.fm. Honestly if the issue started after you've been using the client for a while, and reinstalling didn't helped, chances are that some third element came in to trigger the malfunctioning.

If you can give more details guys we can try to reproduce this and address what or how this can happen.

I'm having this same problem on Leopard 10.5.4.

I zapped last.fm with appzapper (which deletes all the files related to an application) and then got a fresh copy of last.fm.

I get the same symptoms of starting it, it hangs in the dock for about 12 bounces and then crashes.

Do you guys happen to have iTunes 8 installed? This may be the problem... (I have iTunes 8)

    Crash. LAST.fm useless

Have the same problem. crashing at start. tried reinstalling the program. Deleting. Relaunch and reset. Nothing works.

Did anybody found a solution at the end?
(dont have any extra plugin OS 10.5.4, itunnes 8.0. Its probably not itunnes cause I tried to start last.fm with itunnes closed)

    Any help is welcomed

  • Since no one mentioned i'm giving for granted that all of you guys are running the latest client version.
So far we coulnd't manage to reproduce this on OSX 10.5.

  • I'm having the same problem as described in the above posts. I am an OSX 10.5 user. This began happening about a week or two ago. Any chance in getting this fixed? I tried to install and re-install, nothing is working.

reinstalling a dozen times, nothing works

fails to open, repeatedly ... running osx 10.4.11

really miss my last ... help!

  • Never install on top of the previous version if you are experiencing any sort of problems. I think that removing the current application and reinstalling from scratch the latest client available from here.

    Same problem here...

Just bounces in the dock then FAIL. I've even tried installing older versions of Last.fm and same problem. It seems that Last.fm doesn't like iTunes 8 perhaps?

    Update

Last.fm works fine when I log into another account on my Mac...

  • Have you tried to remove the application and then reinstall?
Updating (installing on top) never fix this kind of problems.

I removed the file /Users/"my user name"/Library/Logs/Last.fm.log which was 9 GB in size and the application started up fine.

  • I removed the last.fm.log thing too. Reinstalled, and it opened fine. Thank you!!

    Yeah

Removed the logs, like 2MB size, and relaunched without reinstall, and went fine.
