At number nine is kooky glamour girl Katy Perry, whose second album Teenage Dream is one of the newest releases in our countdown. You've been scrobbling the record like wildfire since August, putting her ahead of The National by a whopping 800,000 spins.
Brought up as a Christian gospel singer, Perry hit the limelight in 2008 with her ridiculously popular ode to bi-curiosity, 'I Kissed A Girl', and she has courted controversy ever since.
Perry's appearance on Sesame Street this year was pulled before broadcast when producers decided her retro pin-up style was just too raunchy for kids' TV. Fans turned instead to YouTube to see Perry duet with Elmo on a version of 'Hot N Cold', and the contagiously catchy original has now been scrobbled by over 600,000 of you.
Meanwhile, Perry's new husband, comedian Russell Brand, was arrested in September after allegedly attacking a paparazzo taking an up-skirt shot of the pop star. But just to prove that all publicity is good publicity, she still bagged an armful of nominations at the Grammys and MTV Video Music Awards, not to mention 8.1 million scrobbles from Last.fm listeners.
