Singer, songwriter, dancer, actor and all-round natural-born pop star Jason Derülo has been writing for R&B artists like Sean Kingston and Cassie since 2007. After achieving massive success with his first single in 2009 - the Imogen Heap-sampling 'Whatcha Say' – Derülo released his self-titled debut in March this year and has already embarked on a headlining world tour, all at the tender age of 21.
This year, 457,000 of you scrobbled tracks by the Miami-born, American-Haitian Derülo. 'Whatcha Say' still tops the chart at 1,725,000 plays, followed by his second single 'In My Head', which earned 1,434,000 plays.
Much of the year was spent globetrotting as a support act for 2009's most scrobbled artist, Lady Gaga, on her seemingly never-ending Monster Ball Tour, followed by his own tour of the US, Europe and Australia during autumn and winter. Derülo has also lined up a number of British shows in February 2011, where fans can expect to hear a preview of new material from the baby-faced star.
